The business area you will be working in will provide you with a bespoke induction tailored to meet your individual needs.
Performance appraisals
The Performance Management Appraisal Scheme (PAS) plays a crucial role in our learning and development strategy. The PAS has three 3 parts:
performance review
support
development
Development needs are identified through regular 1-2-1 discussions with your line manager. Where development needs have been identified individuals are able to book onto training courses through an on line self-service portal. All learning and development requests are approved by your line manager.
Learning and development activities are delivered through a variety of methods including classroom based training, desk training, attendance at conferences and e-learning, webinars and conferences.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
We pride ourselves on being a learning organisation and as such all staff are required to complete a CPD log. Staff manage their CPD log via our portal. This log is then used when completing the PAS. You are able to record all your personal learning activities to support your continuous professional development onto your own personal learning log through the on line employee self-service portal.
Personal development plan
You will also have a personal development plan which you will be able to review and monitor through the HR employee self-service portal.
Equality and human rights
We are committed to providing a work environment that values the diversity of all people, and we fully support the rights of people to be treated with dignity and respect. This applies both to our own staff and to those with whom we come into contact during our work.
Our Strategic Equality Plan outlines our continued commitment to equality and our related objectives. Our annual reports on progress made towards delivering our equality objectives are available within the Publications section.
Watch our video, made in conjunction with Iris LGBT Film Festival Outreach programme. It follows a fictional new starter in our organisation, who wonders if he can be out in the workplace.
Stonewall UK Diversity Champion
We are a Diversity Champion member of Stonewall UK [opens in new window] and we participate in the Workforce Equality Index so that we can benchmark our arrangements against the Top 100 LGBT friendly employers in the UK.
