Carmarthenshire County Council
The Auditor General for Wales' opinion is that the financial statements give a TRUE and FAIR view of the Council's finances.
The Council has maintained a sustainable financial position to date but will need to continue to deliver savings given anticipated budget pressures.
The Council paid £3.5m in COVID19 business grants before 31 March 2020. In conjunction with Hywel Dda Health Board, the Council spent £1.3m expenditure on the set up of five surge hospitals in the area.
The Council is also responsible for the preparation of annual financial statements or returns for Dyfed Pension Fund, Wales Pension Partnership, Swansea Bay Region City Deal and Burry Port Harbour Authority.
The Council received £3.1m from Welsh Government to undertake repairs required as a result of storm Callum.
The Auditor General's opinion drew attention to potential uncertainty in the valuation of surplus assets and investment assets and also property assets which are part of the pension fund liability balance due to the COVID19 pandemic.
