About the role

Audit Wales is looking to recruit permanent Financial Audit Leads, with current vacancies based within our North Wales team.

Are you currently working within a finance team but looking for a new challenge or working within audit but would like the challenge of a new sector?

Yes? Then our Financial Audit Lead role may be what you are looking for. We are looking for highly motivated people to be part of our energetic and resilient teams. 

Primarily you will be leading teams in delivering financial audit work at a number of public sector bodies. You may also have the opportunity to support our value for money audit work and be involved in delivering corporate projects.

You will be a qualified CCAB accountant with experience in supervising and coaching staff.  Experience of the public sector is desirable but not essential, but you will be a committed team player, keen to improve the outcomes of the citizens of Wales. You will be confident in maintaining ownership of your own work and will bring your accounting audit experience through your CCAB accreditation.

What it’s like to work in Audit Services

As a Financial Audit Lead, you will work within Audit Services. Audit Services delivers both financial audit and performance audit. The Financial Audit Lead Role supports the delivery of the financial audits of public sector clients. Our teams are split geographically, North, West and South Wales. Successful candidates will have a portfolio of clients from across the public sector, comprising, central government, local government and NHS. While experience in these sectors would be an advantage, it is not essential and support will be provided. Financial Audit Leads are part of the management team and play a key role within the audit team. While successful candidates will be expected to have excellent technical skills to deliver and support complex audits, they will also be responsible for the supervision and coaching of the teams, most of who are training with either ICAEW or AAT.

While we operate a hybrid working model, Financial Audit Leads are expected to be on site with their teams for at least two days per week.
