  • Find out more about the new, exciting apprenticeship programme.

Audit Wales are delighted to announce that their applications for the All Wales Public Sector Finance Apprenticeship Programme are now open.

This exciting new programme is delivered in partnership with members of the Finance Skills Development Group; a partnership aimed at developing finance leadership skills across Wales.

The FSDG includes organisations such as:

    • Audit Wales
    • NHS Wales
    • Welsh Government and sponsored bodies
    • Local government
    • Gwent Police
    • Fire and Rescue Service

The group was awarded the Public Finance Innovation Award in 2017 [opens in new window] for its innovative model of finance training and development for graduates, to promote the value and importance of a career in public finance.

What is the All Wales Public Sector Finance Apprenticeship Programme?

The three-year fixed term programme offers professional training with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) from level 2 through to level 4, supplemented with further professional training.

Candidates will gain a financial qualification and learn about public sector finance and have the unique opportunity of spending time with other partner bodies, experiencing the full range of finance functions.

    Why Audit Wales?

Apprentices at Audit Wales will be part of a dynamic team who are passionate about inspiring and empowering the Welsh public sector to improve. Learning and developing as they go, Audit Wales apprentices will be supporting audits and gaining confidence in how to undertake external audits.

Our apprentices receive support and coaching throughout their apprenticeship and have access to further professional development opportunities.

Find out more about the innovative programme and how to apply on our apprenticeship page [opens in new window].

Closing date for applications is 20 June 2021.
