About the role

Audit Wales is looking to recruit an IT (Information Technology) support engineer.

Are you an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual, a good communicator with experience providing support to colleagues in a Windows OS (Operating System) environment?

Yes? Then this hybrid role – 2 or 3 days in our central Cardiff office, the rest working from home, with Audit Wales may be what you are looking for.

You will have a good engineering understanding of the technologies underpinning our business including laptops, Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Windows 10/11, Sharepoint and smartphones. You will be able to use and maintain an automated laptop build process based on Windows Deployment Services to set up laptops and help our users get started using them. You will be familiar with setting up and managing user accounts on Windows Server and the Microsoft admin portals.

You will be friendly and approachable, able to deal with support enquiries, giving “how to” information and resolving problems. You’ll help our users by screen sharing on Teams, email, phone or face to face.

You’ll have opportunities to get involved in IT project work such as software deployments and hardware upgrades, and in running training sessions for colleagues.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for making a difference to the public sector through your fluency and capability with technology, your focus on problem solving and your willingness to go the extra mile to support our business people.
