No plans survive first contact with reality as it is, but imagine the world today compared to autumn 2019. The normality taken for granted has been changed by Covid-19’s rapid spread across the globe. 

Many strategic directions that seemed the right ones before Covid-19 may have altered completely, but others may also have remained remarkably similar.

This event seeks to complement our Springing Forward review by examining how lived experiences can be used to build a more resilient future.

Our review will look at councils’ approach to transforming, adapting and maintaining their services. The emphasis will be on the councils’ strategic approach for the delivery of its services in the short and longer term.

This event will question – in the continuing aftermath of Covid-19, in the face of climate change and the opportunities offered by digital transformation – how we evolve organisations that are resilient and use their resources to the best effect and adapt to the unforeseen events to come.
