The skills of deciding what data you need, how to collect it and then what to do with that data are a necessity. We need to change the culture and mind set around data and build the skills within teams, within organisations and within multi-agency partnerships to maximise our use of data and to enable data driven decision making.

Our joint Annual Report and Accounts for the year ending 31 March 2018 has now been published, and will be the last for the current Auditor General before he retires. It shows that, thanks to the professionalism, dedication and hard work of Wales Audit Office staff, we successfully delivered our broad programme of work to a high quality standard.
We achieved the majority of our performance targets for the year and made substantial progress on our longer-term priorities for transforming the way we run our business and delivering our audit programme.
